Four Rocky men earn Frontier honors

Four Rocky Mountain College men’s basketball players received Frontier Conference accolades, commissioner Kent Paulson announced on Tuesday.

Rob Nyby, a 6-foot-5 senior from Plentywood,was one of six players named first team All-Conference.

Nyby averaged 19.9 points and 7.5 rebounds a contest. He shot a team-high 43.9 percent from the three point line, while shooting 52.4 percent from inside the arc. Nyby shot 84.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Junior Taylor Longo, a 6-1 guard from Littleton, Colo., and sophomore guard Chad Kananen (Roy, Mont.) were named honorable mention All-Conference.

Longo, a junior, averaged 13.8 points a game, while Kananen (6-1) chipped in with 11.8 points a game.

Ben Moerkerke (6-7, senior, Conrad High School, Mont.) was voted the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year.
