Rocky's Thompsett ties for 51st at NAIA National Tourney

BILLINGS -  Rocky Mountain College golfer Daniel Thompsett finished in a four-way tie for 51st Friday at the 64th annual NAIA National Golf Championships at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Thompsett, this season's Frontier Conference tournament champion, finished with nine-over par, 297. He opened the tournament Tuesday with a two-under 70, followed by a pair of 75s Wednesday and Thursday, before closing with 77.

Thompsett, from Aboyne, Scotland, graduated from Rocky earlier this month. He qualified for nationals by winning the Frontier Conference championship by two strokes over Lewis-Clark State's Cole Lorenzo.

The NAIA individual championship was won by Dalton State's Sean Elliott with a 16-under, 272.
