Montana man charged with felony sexual abuse of children for child pornography

GREAT FALLS -

Robert James Dion of Great Falls has been charged with two counts of felony sexual abuse of children for allegedly possessing child pornography.

The case started with a tip from a a representative of the photo-sharing website Photobucket.com to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The report states three photos and one video were posted to the site in February 2013 that showed a female believed to be under the age of 14 "in obvious distress with her genitals exposed."

Court documents say a Great Falls Police Department officer traced the Photobucket account information to Dion.

A search warrant was obtained and Dion's computer was seized and searched.

Dion reportedly told the detective that he would find child pornography photos and video on the computer.

A police detective said that the photos appeared to be "home-made," and believed that the images documented an "ongoing 'hands on' abuse of a juvenile female in Cascade County."

The report states a Department of Homeland Security agent scanned the computer and found one pornographic image of a female who appeared to be under the age of 12, along with several videos depicting child pornography.

When questioned, Dion reportedly admitted that he had been chatting with girls on Skype and they were 15, 16, and 20 years old.

Authorities said there were nude images on his computer of three girls, but the detective was only able to identify the 20-year-old.

Dion reportedly then admitted that he obtained other pornographic images online, and some of the victims were as young as 8.

Prosecutors have asked that bond for Dion be set at $50,000.
