Jeanelle Slade co-anchors the region's number one newscast at 5:30 and 10 p.m. alongside Jay Kohn, Bob McGuire and Scott Breen. She rejoined the Q2 news team in August 2011.
"Television news is and has always been my passion, and Q2 is where I am meant to be," said Jeanelle. "Our viewers, our communities deserve a news team that works hard for them every day. I'm proud to be back on that team."
Jeanelle is an award-winning anchor and reporter who worked in the Q2 newsroom from 1995 to 2004 immediately following graduation from the University Of Montana School Of Journalism.
She began her career working for Q2 news on the original Daybreak morning show. It didn't take long for her to realize the early hours are meant for cheerier people.
Jeanelle was then promoted as the station's main weekday reporter covering the cops and courts beat and daily lead stories. Jeanelle then anchored the Q2 Weekend Newscast for six years.
During her initial years at Q2, Jeanelle received honors including State Spot News Coverage from the Associated Press and was named E.B Craney Montana Broadcaster of the Year in 2000. Since returning Jeanelle has been named Broadcaster of the Year in 2013 and 2015.
Jeanelle, her husband Joel, and their two daughters live in Billings. They try to spend their winters at Red Lodge Mountain or Big Sky and their summers on the water in Northern Wyoming or Western Montana.
"Why do we all live in Montana, if not to enjoy the great people and the amazing outdoors?" says Jeanelle.
