BILLINGS - Thousands of women are in Billings this weekend for a faith-based event meant to inspire and re-energize them.
Women of Faith is a two-day conference--featuring different inspirational speakers, musical guests and dramas. Saturday, Karen James a journalist and widow of a Fort Hood climber, shared her story of surviving tragedy and loss. She encouraged women to stay faithful during the challenges, they all face in life.
Organizers say the annual event is a perfect opportunity to bring women together.
"I believe the hallmark of Women of Faith is that community and connectedness that happens in a given weekend. We tell stories, we use a lot of humor and how we share what's going on in our lives and women are able to relate to that," said Leslie Reed, Vice President of Communications for Women of Faith.
Just under 5,000 women attended this year's event. Women of Faith organizers are already gearing up for next year's conference. The event will be back in the Magic City on April 8th and 9th of 2011. The women of faith group will head to Las Vegas next.
