Woman rescued from Flathead River near Polson

POLSON, MT - Emergency crews rescued a woman from the Flathead River near Riverside Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Polson Assistant Police Chief John Stevens and Lake County Deputy Clay Shoemaker swam to the woman, grabbed her and then were pulled to shore by other rescuers using a rope.

The woman was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, but she was alert and responsive. The incident happened just before 1:45 p.m.

The Polson Police Department, the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the Polson Fire Department and a Polson Emergency Services Ambulance all responded to the call.
