Wiley leaves Griz basketball team

MISSOULA - University of Montana basketball player Jake Wiley has decided to discontinue playing at UM, announced eighth-year Griz mentor Wayne Tinkle recently.

Wiley is a 6-7 forward from Newport, Wash., who would have been a sophomore eligibility-wise at Montana in the 2013-14 season.

"Jake has decided not to play any longer with the Grizzlies for personal reasons, and obviously we honor that decision," Tinkle said. "Jake is a great young kid with a promising future, and we wish him well."

Wiley played in 20 games as a true freshman last season at UM, and scored 19 points.
