BILLINGS - A competition that's literally moving people across the United States and Canada is searching for the World's best Pink Glove Dance. St. Vincent Healthcare is getting in on the action in hopes of winning some cash.
It's a case of dance fever and it's highly contagious, but it's all for a very good cause, one that fits these St Vincent workers like a glove... a pink glove.
"It was really great event, even though I'm not a great dancer, it was fun to be involved in something like this that brings such great awareness to breast cancer," stated Shawn Langeliers a video participant. "Each group got to come up with their own dance, but there was a lot creative dance moves displayed," Langeliers said with a laugh.
More than 150 staff scrubbed their normal work routine to show their fancy footwork for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
"It was exciting to see all of the men and women celebrating for us, and whenever I see the color pink, it brings tears to my eyes because we know that they're there for us and they always will be," said breast cancer survivor Gayle Ellis.
Film goers give it a big thumbs up at today's premiere, and you too can have a hand in helping the hospital win the 3rd annual contest. If their video goes viral it could mean up to $10,000 in prize-money for a breast cancer charity of choice.
"It'll mean a lot if St. Vs wins the Pink Glove Dance towards the EVA project, and really it will bring awareness to breast cancer and survivors in the Billings area," stated Langeliers.
Of course, the ultimate prize would end cancer with a cure; a goal this group hopes is just a song and a dance away.
You can vote for the St. Vincent Pink Glove Video starting tomorrow October 12th, and you will be available to watch in full, and vote online at Pinkglovedance.com. The winners will be announced November 2nd.
