VIDEO: Northern lights dance over Montana

BILLINGS - This timelapse video shows the Northern Lights peaking through the cloud cover at Deadman's Basin Resevoir near Ryegate.
It was bad luck that this summer's much needed rain clouds decided to coincide with the spectacular light show. I wasn't sure I would get to see anything, but I decided to head North from Billings with two brave friends and see what I could capture.
I didn't get to personally see the Aurora because I was fast asleep at the time, but my trusty camera caught the whole thing.
This video was compiled from several hours' worth of back-to-back still images. Each image was a 30-second exposure.
