CODY, WY - Cody Police Chief Perry Rockvam provided further details about the abduction and assault of a young girl.
Jesse Paul Speer, 39, of Manhattan, Montana is charged on a warrant out of Wyoming on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and use of a firearm. He will be seen in Gallatin County District Court Monday at 1:30 p.m.
At 3 p.m. today, representatives from the Bozeman Police Department, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office and Belgrade Police Department will conduct a press release regarding law enforcement role in the arrest of Jesse Speer in connection with a kidnapping and assault that occurred in Cody, Wyoming on October 8, 2012.
Speer was arrested by authorities in Belgrade on October 13. The warrant says he is being charged in connection with events that occurred on October 8 in Park County, Wyoming. He's being held in the Gallatin County Detention Center on a $2 million bond.
On Monday, Oct. 8, an 11-year-girl was abducted in Cody, Wyoming by a man who enticed her into his SUV by asking for help finding his missing puppy. She was later found and reunited with her family.
