Victim identified in fatal motorcycle crash

HELENA - Ryan Marvin Moyes of Helena has been identified as the man who died in a motorcycle accident on Lincoln Road on Tuesday.

Lewis & Clark County Coroner Mickey Nelson released the information on Tuesday evening.

Moyes, 36, died at around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to Nelson.

His body was discovered by Montana Department of Transportation workers at around 9 am on Tuesday.

Nelson says his preliminary investigation shows that speed and alcohol contributed to the accident.

Moyes was not wearing a helmet.

(UPDATE, 11 am) Trooper Tim Proctor of the Montana Highway Patrol has confirmed that one man died in a motorcycle accident on Lincoln Road East.

The accident scene is near the "S" curve.

Authorities do not yet know what time it happened.

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

The cause of the accident is not yet known; authorities are continuing their investigation.

The name of the driver has not yet been released.
