The Pine Creek fire south of Livingston continues to burn out of control. Strong winds from a thunder cell passed over the fire area today and increased fire activity and spread. Evacuations are underway north of McDonald Creek and east to the perimeter.
The Park County Sheriff's Office has issued a mandatory evacuation to residents in the George Creek area. The road block on East River Road on the south end near Barney Creek has been moved to George Creek.
Residents that live in the Livingston Peak area and residents that live along Swingley Road all the way to the Park and Sweet Grass County line are under a pre-evacuation notice. This means that those residents should make preparations to leave their homes if the need arises.
The fire has burned several homes and outbuildings. It has charred over 9,000 acres of land.
