UPDATE: Highway 84 reopened from Blacks Ford to Norris

UPDATE: Highway 84 from Blacks Ford to Norris is now open, but there will be 20-minute delays with pilot cars until about 6 p.m.

Firefighters at the Bear Trap 2 Fire will be doing a test fire burnout starting at 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. This will close Highway 84 from Blacks Ford to Norris.

The fire, which is burning 20 miles northeast of Ennis along the Madison River, has destroyed three structures. Evacuations warnings are in effect for Blacks Ford south to Norris in Madison County. Gallatin County pre-evacuation notifications are in effect for Blacks Ford north into Gallatin County.

The Bear Trap 2 Fire has reached 14,770 acres. As of this morning, it was 12% contained.
