UPDATE: A fire that substantially burned a residential detached garage in Billings Heights destroyed all contents occupying the structure.

The fire also damaged the exterior and interior of a fifth wheel next to the garage.

Damages are estimated at $70,000.

Fire officials say propane tanks inside the the garage burned and propelled the blaze after being exposed by the fire.

BILLINGS - Flames tore through a Heights garage this afternoon.

Firefighters arrived on scene just after 3 p.m. Tuesday to find a residential garage engulfed in flames.

Crews faced a difficult time fighting the blaze due to the fire hydrant location at the end of Wagner Lane.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time - but officials suspect a garage heater could be to blame.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames, but the garage appears to be a complete loss.

We will provide updates to the cause as the information becomes available.
