UPDATE: Child hit by motor home, airlifted to Great Falls

UPDATE: A man near Helena reportedly backed over his young child with a motor home by accident on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 2 p.m. at a private residence near Silver City.

We're told the father man hit the child with the RV on the passenger side.

The child was airlifted via Mercy Flight at about 3:30 pm to Benefis hospital in Great Falls.

Authorities say the child is alive but the extent of the child's injuries is unknown.

MHP also tells us no citations have been issued and it appears it was an accident.

A five year old child has been injured after a motor home reportedly backed up over the child on Marysville Road on Sunday afternoon.

The child has been transported to Benefis hospital in Great Falls via Mercy Flight helicopter.

The nature and extent of the child's injuries are not yet known.

Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's officals and the Montana Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
