Crews on the 19 Mile fire are confident with containment efforts.
Officials say by Friday, they will likely transfer control of the fire to a Type 3 team which consists of local management. Over the past few days, several crews and helicopters have been relieved of duties and smaller crews have been working overnight. Remaining crews include two Type 2 teams, one Type 1 team and numerous engines.
The fire remains at 4,083 acres with 87 percent containment.
While the perimeter of the fire hasn't grown much, crews are still working on containment of the northern flank where access is difficult.
Crews have also been making good progress with mop-up around homes and will likely have structure protection efforts completed by the end of shift Thursday.
A smaller crew will continue to work through the night over the next few days.
The 19 Mile Fire began on August 28th and was caused by lightening.
