DOUGLAS, Wyo. - A plane contracted by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to survey pronghorn antelope from the air has crashed, injuring the pilot and a state biologist.
Authorities say the small plane crashed Monday morning in a farm field south of Douglas.
Game and Fish spokesman Eric Keszler says the pilot was taken to a hospital in Casper while the biologist was taken to the hospital in Douglas. Their names were not immediately released.
Keszler says the state agency had contracted the plane through Laird Flying Service out of Ekalaka, Mont.
Officials with the company were not immediately available for comment.
The Game and Fish Department conducts annual counts of wildlife to help assess populations and set hunting seasons.
