Train hits vets parade in Texas

MIDLAND, TX - A parade to honor wounded Veterans turned tragic in west Texas, as a trailer carrying the vets was hit by a a train. At least four people are dead, 17 injured.
Rescue crews and stunned townspeople race toward a Union Pacific train in Midland, Texas, after it struck a parade float carrying wounded American veterans.
The veterans were on their way to a "Hunt for Heroes" banquet, which was to be followed by a weekend deer-hunting trip. The trailer in which the vets were riding was being pulled across the tracks when the train hit.
The injured were taken to a local hospital, which called in all available staff to handle the casualties. So far, no word on whether there were warnings about the approaching train, or if the vehicle malfunctioned.
