GARRYOWEN, MT - The town of Garryowen, Montana will go up for auction, next month.

The town, near Crow Agency, is just off Interstate 90 at exit 514.

The sale includes "Town Hall," a 15,400 square foot building, and a 2,900 square foot building.

The museum is not part of the sale.. and some Elizabeth Custer manuscripts will be auctioned separately.

The three-level "Town Hall" includes a convenience store, a Subway sandwich shop, retail space, a US Post office and a penthouse residence.

"Well I think it's a pretty special opportunity, especially in America," said Amy Bates, spokesperson for Williams & Williams, the company running the auction. "You know the fact that you can own your own zip code, I think it's a pretty neat idea, and Garryowen is an incredible, has the historic association and then it's on that busy stretch of I-90."

The auction is scheduled for August 15th at 4:00 p.m., in Garryowen.
