BILLINGS - Nearly 100 dogs, and their owners, ran or walked to raise awareness and funding for dog parks in Billings.
Dogs of all sizes enjoyed the 3rd annual Dash for Dogs Race. On top of the race this morning there were also dog supply raffles, demonstrations and guest speakers that provided helpful hints from ownership to training.
The Billings Police K9 Unit even made an appearance to show off their highly intelligent police dogs, and answer some helpful questions from the crowd.
The High Sierra Dog Park is an integral of the community and organizers want Billings to know that it can be a special place for not only your dog, but you as well.
"I think that it's a really great thing. You come to a dog park and already you have something in common with the rest of the people here," said Marcia Clausing, Co-Chair of the Friends of Billings Dog Parks. "It's very easy to get to know people, and if you're new to the community it's a great way to meet new friends."
