BILLINGS- This upcoming Christmas season, a retailer known for wearing red will be looking for a lot of extra help to make sure boys and girls of all ages have presents on Christmas Day.

Oh, you thought we were talking about Santa?

Perhaps we should be more specific.

Target in Billings is looking for seasonal assistance-with the possible opportunity of full time employment.

"So right now we're really focused on staffing our stores for the holiday season, so we bring a lot of team members on this time of year, so we're just starting that process Monday and Tuesday in the Heights," said Target Billings store manager Dan Masin.

However, Target isn't the only ornament on the tree when it comes to needing extra holiday help, and-according to new statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics-Montana's unemployment rate is hovering right above six percent (6.1%), meaning seasonal employees are the hot commodity this Christmas season.

So, for the first time in the company's history (in Billings), the two Target locations will be hosting a hiring fair to try and fill around 100 positions needed to keep the retail giant up and running through the Christmas season.

The fair takes place Monday, October 22nd and Tuesday, October 23rd from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Target at 403 Main Street.

And although the jobs offered will be temporary, Masin says there's always an opportunity to earn a spot as a full time team member.

"We are hiring season team members right now, but we love great people working in our store if they do a fantastic job and they want to stay with us-- we often invite them to," said Masin.

If you're planning on attending the job fair you may want to know that 'on the spot' interviews will take place.
