Sweet Grass County Sheriff's Office investigating early morning assault in Big Timber

BIG TIMBER, MT - The Sweet Grass County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault that happened early this morning in Big Timber.
A 62 year old woman called 9-1-1 to report that a man had broken into her house and assaulted her.
Within minutes, law enforcement officers and an ambulance arrived on scene but the perpetrator was nowhere to be found.
The woman was taken to the Pioneer Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, while deputies secured the scene and requested assistance from the state Department of Criminal Investigation.
The Sweet Grass County Sheriff's Office is looking for a male suspect who may have visible scratches and other injuries to his hands, arms, and face.
If anyone has information about the suspect, they are asked to call the Sweet Grass County Sheriff's Office at 406-932-5143.
