Suspect arrested in Big Horn County weekend homicide

UPDATE: HARDIN - The FBI confirmed Monday night, it has a suspect in custody for the weekend homicide in Big Horn County.

Authorities are not releasing the suspects name at this time.

Authorities have confirmed the victim died from multiple stab wounds.

The body of Franklin Red Wolf, 42, of St. Xavier was found on Saturday, Nov. 2 around 12:30 p.m. near the Two Leggins river access.

Big Horn County Coroner Terry Bullis said numerous knife type injuries caused Red Wolf to bleed a great deal which caused the victim to pass away.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, FBI and Big Horn County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death as a homicide.

Bullis said he is unsure the exact time Red Wolf died, but it was sometime between midnight and noon on Saturday.

The FBI has yet to release any information about the case, including whether a suspect is in custody.

Original Story: HARDIN - Law enforcement officials in Big Horn County are investigating the death of a 42-year-old St. Xavier man.

The investigation is being handled as a homicide. The man has been identified as Franklin Red Wolf.

His body was discovered Saturday, Nov. 2 near the Two Leggins river access area south of Hardin.

Big Horn County Coroner Terry Bullis said Red Wolf was found around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and had been deceased for several hours.

The investigation is currently being handled by the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and FBI.

Bullis said an autopsy is scheduled for Monday. At that time more information might be available on the nature of Red Wolf's death.

Q2 contacted the FBI for more information on this homicide but has not received a response as of Sunday afternoon.

It is unknown at this time if any arrests were made in connection to the homicide or if there is a person of interest.
