Students return to school with added safety measures

School District 2 students return to school Wednesday, the first day back with added security measures that were announced on Sunday.

At middle schools and elementary schools:

All district employees will wear identification
Only main doors will be open
Guests will be required to obtain a guest pass from the office

At high schools

Non-essential doors will remain locked
Visitors will be required to obtain a guest pass

School District 2 Superintendent Terry Bouck said a community evening safety forum will be held later in January.
