A cat that ended up in Billings after hitching a ride on a semi truck died over the weekend from a blood parasite.  The cat was originally found by loading dock workers at an Albertson's grocery store on 12th and Grand in Billings. She was in pretty bad shape when she was found but was taken in by the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter and was being nursed back to health.  The cat took a turn for the worse over the weekend and veternarians were unable to save it.
The cat probably came from the Salt Lake City area and was found underneath a pallet in the truck. The cat had been without food and water for quite awhile and it was injured.
