BILLINGS- The Billings Fire Department says a small grass fire near Interstate 90 in west Billings on Saturday afternoon turned out to be only a little more than an acre in size and gave them little trouble.
The fire started shortly after 2 p.m. near the westbound lanes of the interstate close to the Zoo Drive exit in Billings.
A crew quickly doused the fire without having to close lanes or re-route traffic on the interstate.
The fire department says they do not know what caused the fire, but they will not be investigating it any further.
Witnesses say they saw a train pass by near the point of origin for the fire shortly before the fire began.
