Small fire ignites on the rims

BILLINGS- The Billings Fire Department still doesn't know what caused a small vegetation fire on the Billings rimrocks Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews responded to a spot on the rims just above 12th Avenue North and North 19th Street shortly after 4p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

It took crews only 5 minutes to extinguish the fire, which they described as being 10 square feet in size.

However, a crew member did have to climb down a rock ledge in order to reach the fire.
