HELENA - A small earthquake rumbled north of Helena on Wednesday night.
According to initial computer-generated data from the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake measured a magnitude 2.3 and was centered approximately 12 to 15 miles north/northeast of Helena.
The quake happened at 10:42 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Walt Johnson tells us that he felt his cabin near the Gates Of The Mountains shake "quite violently" and that it lasted between 15 and 25 seconds. He also said he heard a very loud noise.
We have not received any reports of damage.
