BILLINGS - Black Friday draws a lot of business for big box stores..
Small businesses get in on the action Tomorrow..
Organizers of the third annual Small Business Saturday hope to bring in shoppers all across the country.
The Billings Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Billings Association have been promoting the benefits of Small Business Saturday.
The Chamber reports small businesses pay 44 percent of the country's private payroll.
Desmonds Men's Store is one of several participating in Billings. The owner, Nick Blake says it is important to highlight small businesses between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
"That's not what the small businessman and owner is catered towards," Blake said about Black Friday and CyberMonday. "(Small business is geared) towards service and taking care of the locals on a daily basis as well as retaining the money, keeping it in the community and working the money back around the community. That's the advantage of small business."
Small Business Saturday is a promotion of American Express, which expects about 100-million shoppers to participate nationwide.
