Shodair Children's Hospital broke ground on their newest project in Helena on Thursday.

The project is the Shodair Family House, and it will serve as a place for families to come stay with their children while they are being treated at the hospital.

It will also serve as a facility to educate those families and the community about dealing with mental illness in children.

Jack Casey, the hospital administrator, explained, "Families are affected so deeply by mental health, mental illness of their children, that sometimes they don't think well along the way, so what we want to do is bring them here, help them participate so that when they get a child back home they have some tools to work with to keep that child on the right path."

The hospital hopes to have construction completed on the $1.2 million project by April 2013.
