GREAT FALLS - Ryan Leaf is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday afternoon in a Cascade County courtroom.
Leaf, a Great Falls native and former NFL quarterback, was arrested in Great Falls on April 1st and charged with one count of burglary, one count of theft, two counts of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and booked on probation violation.
That arrest came just two days after Leaf was arrested on similar charges.
In 2010, Leaf pled guilty in Potter County, Texas, to eight felony drug charges and was sentenced to 10 years probation and a $20,000 fine.
During a previous court appearance, Leaf acknowledged that he has a drug problem.
A non-binding plea agreement several weeks ago recommends a ten year sentence to the Montana Department of Corrections, with five of those years suspended.
The agreement requests that part of the sentence includes nine months of substance abuse treatment at the Nexus Treatment Center in Lewistown.
The sentence also calls for Leaf to spend six months in a pre-release facility.
The plea agreement is non-binding, which means that the judge can accept or reject any portion of the deal.
Leaf said at the time that he views the substance abuse treatment as an opportunity.
