BOZEMAN - Montana State Track and Field announced the signing of Brittnee Grimstad to a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career as a Bobcat.
The Billings Senior standout was runner-up in the 2011 Class AA Discus Championships throwing 125-08.00. She also placed third in the shot put with 36-09.00. Grimstad earned a bronze in the javelin (117-00.00), as well. Those performances earned her all-state recognition.
Grimstad's personal best in both the discus and the javelin checks in at 134-00.00 and boasts a 40-06.00 in the shot put.
Off the track, she was recently named class valedictorian and is a member of the National Honor Society. She competed in the National Strength and Conditioning Association Index Competition, which is a nationwide contest testing overall athleticism, where she placed seventh.
She plans to major in Exercise Science.
"We're excited to have such a versatile thrower come to Montana State," said assistant coach Mike Carignan. "Brittnee is an ideal fit for our program, both athletically and academically, and should have an immediate impact in the throws."
