BILLINGS - The search for a new Billings School District 2 superintendent is coming to a close, with Wednesday being the deadline to apply for district's top job.
According to the district's director of human resource services, Jeana Lervick, as many as 17 people have turned in their applications.
The exact number of applicants will be announced Thursday.
According to Lervick, the educational firm, McPherson and Jacobson, will now sort through the applications to find the best candidates for the Billings schools. Once they've narrowed down a list, the finalists will be presented to the board of trustees in a few weeks.
"It's a great number," said Lervick. "I know that McPherson will do their best to research everyone and really bring to the district the top candidates."
The first round of interviews with the finalists are expected to happen in early May.
