Hundreds of Montana businesses are receiving a refund for operating safe work places.
Montana State Fund announced on Monday it will be refunding $350,000 to 850 businesses.
President Laurence Hubbard says these are small businesses which pay less than $10,000 in premiums every year.
"It's very important that they have a written safety program in effect at least one year prior to participation in the group program, and they also have to be insured or loss free with Montana State Fund for three years before they would be eligible to participate," Hubbard says. "So it's a very select group of small employers who have a history and a demonstrated safety record."
The refund is a result of legislation which passed in 2009.
Hubbard says if businesses are interested in the refund program they should either contact their State Fund policy manager or contact Montana State Fund directly.
