BILLINGS - Rocky Mountain College's Black Tie :Blue Jeans Scholarship Benefit is an important night for students.
The event at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center, raises money for scholarships to help students attend Rocky.
College President Michael Mace says 98 percent of Rocky's students receive some sort of financial aid.
Some students volunteer to work at the auction...dinner and dance.
Black Tie Blue Jeans is a way for alumni and others in the community to help...and as Mace says "pay forward."
"They're helping some one that will some day help some one else," Mace said. "And that's what Black Tie Blue Jeans is all about. We have alumni here that were able to have a scholarship from folks in the community. And now they're here as adults enjoying the evening and helping other young people pursue their same dream."
Mace says Black Tie Blue Jeans typically raises between 250-thousand and 350-thousand dollars for scholarships.
