BILLINGS - Winter driving conditions with snow and ice and possibly poor visibility at times. Be sure to give yourself plenty of extra time this morning.
Billings is on their slick streets policy which means officers will only respond to wrecks that involve injury, where traffic is blocked or in which a crime has been committed. For all other wrecks you should exchange information and report it to the police later.
On the interstate, according to the Montana Department of Transportation:
All the following roads have severe driving conditions due to snowpack and ice with poor visibility from blowing and drifting:
MT-78: Red Lodge to Jct with S-419 (Olies Corner)
S-308: Red Lodge to Belfry
S-419: Jct with MT-78 to Nye
US-212: Red Lodge to Rockvale
The far left lane of Montana Ave remains closed from North 29th Street to North 27th Street. Slow down and watch for workers and equipment throughout this area.
According to the MDT I-94 from Custer to Hysham still has bridge work in progress. Expect reduced speeds to 35 MPH. Watch for equipment throughout this project.
In Laurel, Cottonwood Avenue from 5th Avenue to 2nd Street and 5th Avenue from Main Street to 2nd Street are unpaved due to road repairs and sidewalk replacement. Slowdown in these areas.
