BILLINGS - Billings Central High didn't have to look far for it's new boys basketball coach.
The Rams on Thursday night named Central assistant Jim Stergar their new head coach.
Prior to last season, Stergar was the head boys coach at Billings Senior High School from 2002-2011. His career record there was 114-86, with a 3rd place State AA finish in 2010.
Stergar's first head coaching job was at Ronan High School from 1997-2000, finishing with a record of 68-42. In 2002 his team won the Western Divisional title and State A championship.
Stergar's overall mark is 182-128 in 14 seasons of coaching.
He graduated from the of University of Montana Western in 1994.
