Q2 Weather: Windy!

The big weather word is "windy". Steady winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 or even 50 miles per hour looks to be fairly common through this afternoon, with stronger gusts in the Livingston and Stillwater Mine areas approaching 65 mph.

Along with this, scattered to isolated showers will move across the area. All of this doesn't look terribly organized, and the showers will probably do more in forcing some of the winds aloft closer to the surface, than giving us a lot of precipitation.

Billings Forecast:

Today: A slight chance of rain showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 15 to 40 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered rain and snow showers before midnight, then scattered snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. North northwest wind 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: Scattered snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 33. West northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night: Scattered snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday: A slight chance of snow showers before 11am, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
