Winds in the Livingston area will be gusty to 50 mph, especially early today. Billings, and areas to the west, will be at least breezy at times with steady winds of 15 to 25 mph.
Our approaching cold front isn't in any particular hurry in getting here. Ahead of that system, temperatures will warm to the upper 30s to the upper 40s across our region today. However, clouds will increase ahead of the system as well, and that may shave a few degrees off the afternoon highs.
Snow showers will develop tonight, with generally light accumulations. From Livingston to the south, then east to Sheridan, Wyoming, some of the lower elevations could pick up 1 to 2 inches, with 3 to 5 inches of mountain snow in some areas by noon tomorrow. Then, a warming weather pattern kicks in after a cooler Tuesday.
Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 45. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph.
Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West northwest wind around 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Northwest wind 15 to 25 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19. West wind 5 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. West southwest wind around 5-10 mph.
