UPDATE: Northwestern Energy has restored power lost to 280 customers Friday afternoon.

The problem has been targeted as a piece of underground equipment that affected an additional nearby sub-station.

Northwest Energy is still working to replace the part, and unsure of when Costco will be restored with power. Costco will not re-open until power is restored.

BILLINGS - Power is currently out on the West End. Northwestern Energy is on the scene trying to figure out the cause. They initially thought the cause was a raccoon, but that was ruled out once the raccoon was removed and power remained out.

There was a loud boom heard behind the Wells Fargo Operations Center and smoke was seen. The Billings Fire Department did respond however there was not any damage.

Approximately 280 customers have been affected including Costco, EBMS and other businesses in that vicinity.
