Poly Drive collision reroutes traffic

BILLINGS - Traffic is being rerouted off of Poly Drive at its intersection with Highwood Drive following a two car collision which sent a woman to the hospital.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m., when a silver Pontiac Grand Am heading eastbound collided with a westbound black Chevy Equinox.

Most of the damage to the Chevy was sustained at it's front end and the car remains in the westbound lane of Poly Drive.

The collision knocked the Grand Am off of the road on it's eastbound side and in to a power pole.

Northwestern Energy is on scene assessing the damage.

The driver of the Grand Am was transported to a Billings hospital by ambulance.

No word on the extent of her injuries.

Traffic from Poly is being rerouted north on to Highwood Drive by police barricade on the west side and to the north and south on Virginia Lane at it's east side.
