In the band's only non-festival date in 2012, Pearl Jam announced today that it will perform at the Adams Center in Missoula on Sunday, Sept. 30.
Pearl Jam last performed in Missoula in August 2005 when they hosted a fundraising concert for Jon Tester. Pearl Jam bassist, Jeff Ament, and Senator Tester both hail from Big Sandy and their families have been longtime friends, according to a press release. Although the press release does not say this year's concert is a fundraiser for Tester, it does note that Tester's U.S. Senate campaign will offer premium ticket packages.
The press release also includes this statement from Ament:
"Jon is the real deal, he's a hardworking Montana farmer who has never forgotten who he works for or where he comes from. He's one of us, a rare gem who truly represents Montanans in D.C. ... I look forward to joining folks from across Montana in support of Jon to re-elect him in November."
Mudhoney will open the show at the Adams Center.
Public tickets for Pearl Jam's Missoula show go on sale Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Griz Tix Main Box Office (Adams Center Box Office), The Source (University Center Box Office), Worden's Market, Southgate Mall and MSO Hub, online at www.griztix.com or by phone at (406) 243-4051 or (888) MONTANA.
