Park County man in stable condition after grizzly bear attack

CODY - A Park County man is in stable condition after he was attacked by a grizzly bear around 6:30 Thursday morning.

The attack took place on the man's private property along South Fork Road near Cody Wyoming. The grizzly approached the man while he was working on his irrigation system.

He was able to escape the attack and make his way home to call for help.

At this time, the Wyoming Game and Fish department is searching for the bear. Once it is located, the agency will determine if it the bear has a history of attacks. Fish and Wildlife Service will also assist in the investigation.

According to Regional Wildlife Supervisor Alan Osterland, they were able to confirm it was a grizzly bear from the man's injuries and evidence found at the scene of the attack.
