LAKE COUNTY - An Alaska woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Northwest Montana.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a 51-year-old woman from Anchorage died of injuries sustained in the crash that happened just outside of St. Ignatius on St. Mary's Lake Road at 10:40 p.m. Sunday.
The woman apparently drifted over the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle head-on.
The woman's Subaru Forrester flipped during the crash and landed on the driver's side of the car. She was partially ejected and died on scene.
A 37-year-old man and 15-year-old boy from St. Ignatius were in the second vehicle, a Honda Accord.
Both males were injured in the crash.
No one was wearing seat belts.
MHP reports alcohol and speed were factors.
The accident remains under investigation.
