BILLINGS - Allegiant Air has stopped offering direct service to Oakland, CA from Billings.
Billings Logan International Airport Director of Aviation and Transit Tom Binford confirmed Tuesday the flight between Billings and Oakland was suspended in January.
"Oakland has not been performing well," explained Binford. "Billings residents tend to vacation in Las Vegas or Phoenix during the winter months."
Allegiant also stopped offering a direct flight to Oakland from Bozeman. It will continue to offer the service in Missoula and Kalispell.
Last August Allegiant also suspended its flight from Billings to Los Angeles. However, the L.A. flight may be returning to the Billings market later this year, according to Binford. The Director of Aviation and Transit hopes to know more from the airline sometime in March.
