LIVINGSTON - Crews will break ground on a new $40-million dollar hospital in Livingston this summer.

The new facility, valued at more than $39-million-dollars, will replace a hospital built in 1955.

The hospital will have 25 beds, and its campus will also feature a physician clinic and a building for other services.

Three years ago, a new hospital was announced for Livingston, but funding for the project fell through when the bond marked crashed.

Construction on the new facility is expected to take two years to complete.

Livingston Health-Care is the largest employer in the area.

Livingston Health-Care CEO, Bren Lowe points out that the new state-of-the-art facility is much needed.

"It will completely replace our 1955 facility, which does not structurally meet the healthcare needs of today or the future," Lowe said.

Livingston health-care estimates construction of the new campus, south of Interstate 90, will create an additional 15-million-dollars in local economic activity.
