KALISPELL- Authorities have released the name of the skier who killed after being caught up in an avalanche east of Bigfork on Wednesday afternoon.
Flathead County Undersheriff Jordan White tells us that Mark Albee, 42, of Bigfork died after being buried in the slide that happened off of Jewel Basin Road.
Albee's body was found by Flathead Search and Rescue and Nordic Ski Patrol members at around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
He was skiing with his brother when the avalanche happened on Wednesday. A family member tells Montana's News Station that the men were on a high ridge skiing and taking pictures when the slide happened.
Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says the search for Albee was hindered by poor weather conditions.
We'll have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
