MISSOULA - Authorities have released the name of the man who was hit by a truck and killed Saturday night while trying to cross Reserve Street.
Missoula County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jason Johnson says Timothy Montgomery, 26, died in the incident, which happened at about 9:15 p.m.
Montgomery, who recently moved to the area from Chicago, was killed while trying to cross the busy street near River Road.
He was hit by a 23-year-old man from Missoula, whom authorities say consented to a drug evaluation and blood draw after the accident.
Although the results of the blood test is still pending, the driver showed no signs of impairment during the physical evaluation, according to police.
No citations or arrests have been made in the case and the Missoula Police Department is still investigating the accident.
Johnson says Montgomery died of blunt force trauma.
