DILLON - One man is dead following a motorcycle crash south of Dillon Thursday morning.
The Montana Highway patrol said a 60-year-old man from Layton, Utah, was killed when he lost control of his Harley Davidson on Interstate 15.
The crash happened south of Dillon at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday near mile marker 51, which is about 50 miles north of the Idaho border.
MHP troopers say the man was traveling south on I-15 when he lost control of the motorcycle, rolled and was ejected from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet. According to authorities, he was pronounced brain-dead.
The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that the man killed was James Rulon Judd, 60, the president of the Utah chapter of the AFL-CIO. According to the newspaper, Judd was in Montana participating in the International Association of Fire Fighters motorcycle rally in Butte.
