A Seattle, Washington man died after a motorcycle crash on Highway 89 south of Livingston Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at around 11 a.m. Tuesday when a Subaru heading southbound stopped to turn into a fishing access. The motorcycle was traveling behind the car and the driver tried to pass but crashed and traveled into the ditch on the east side of the highway, Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Patrick McLaughlin said.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old Seattle man, was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital where he died, McLaughlin said.
Traffic was reduced in the area to one lane for three to four hours while authorities investigated. An investigation is still being conducted, and it is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
MHP, Park County Rural Fire, Park County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Transportation responded to the crash.
